We were pleased to welcome over 30 women inside the gallery Monday as they admired the works of many of our artists and enjoyed a discussion with current exhibition painter Jean Grangeon of Broken Daisy Studio about his work and journey to Cincinnati via New York, Paris and his hometown, Montpeiller, in the south of France. The Women’s Committee was founded in 1973 by Phyllis Thayer and Alice Bimel. The group has made significant contributions to the Cincinnati Art Museum by sponsoring individual works or art and special exhibitions. They also funded several programs such as the Art Bus for Kids, and made monetary gifts to The Mary R. Schiff Library and various Art Museum departments. The current exhibition “Betwixt and Between,” also featuring kiln-formed glass by Darryl Berry, can be seen on the gallery website.
